Coastal Ocean Beach Report For June 18, 2016

Sunny skies, low rip current risk, ocean water temperatures still chilly

Hit the beach. It's going to be a beautiful day.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with a high in the upper 70s. Beach winds will be from the northeast at five miles per hour, becoming south in the afternoon.

The surf will be around three feet, with southeast swells around three feet. The surf temperature is a chilly 64 degrees. The rip current risk is low, but strong currents can still occur near piers and jetties. Rip currents are still possible in other areas, especially during low tides. Any increase in the swells could result in an upgrade to a moderate risk.
