Coastal Ocean Beach Report For June 23, 2016
Cloudy skies, thunderstorms possible, low rip current risk.

It's not going to be a great day at the beach.
The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies with showers and a chance of thunderstorms this morning and a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon.
Temperatures will be in the low 70s. Beach winds will be from the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour. The surf will be around three feet, with south swells of two to three feet. The water temperature is a chilly 66 degrees.

There's a low risk of rip currents today, but strong currents can occur near piers and jetties. They are also popular in other areas, especially during the low tide cycles. Swim only in guarded areas and talk to the guards about possible hazards in the surf zone.
The UVI is a 5, due to the cloud cover. The lightning threat is moderate which means thunderstorms are possible.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet will occur at 10:28 a.m. Low tide will start at 4:33 p.m., followed by another high tide at 10:40 p.m.
