Coastal Ocean Beach Report For June 26, 2016

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-70s today, a near perfect beach day.

Expect northeast winds around five miles per hour, becoming southeast in the afternoon. The surf will be around three feet, with east swells two to three feet. The surf temperature is slowly warming to 69 degrees.

Don't forget your sunscreen. The UV index is a 10.

There's a low risk of rip currents today. But strong currents can occur near piers and jetties. Rip currents are possible eleswhere, expecially during low tides Swim only in areas where lifeguards are present and discuss any surf zone hazards with them. There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 7:01 am. High tide will occur at 1:01 p.m., followed by another low tide at 7:20 p.m.
