Coastal Ocean Beach Weather Report For July 19, 2016

Sunny skies, low thunderstorm risk forecast for today.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies today with highs in the mid-80s.

Beach winds will be from the west at around 10 miles per hour.

The surf will be around three feet with a south swell of two feet. The ocean water temperature is 72 degrees. The rip current risk for today is low. But strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during the low tide cycle.

Swim only in areas where lifeguards are present and discuss any possible surf zone hazards with them.

The lightning threat today is low, which implies there is little chance of thunderstorms. The UV index is a 9, which the NWS considers very high, so don't forget the sunscreen.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 7:58 a.m.. Low tide will arrive at 2:08 p.m., followed by another high tide at 8:13 p.m.
