Coastal Ocean Beach Weather Report For July 25, 2016

A heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The National Weather Service is calling for a mixed bag today, with partly sunny skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Highs will be in the upper 80s, but the combination of heat and humidity will make it feel like more like 102 degrees. Beach winds will be from the southwest at around 10 miles per hour.

The surf will be from two to three feet, with southeast swells around two feet. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees.

There's a moderate rip current risk, which means which means wind or wave conditions can support stronger or more frequent rip currents. Always have a flotation device with you in the water and swim only in guarded areas. Discuss any possible surf zone hazards with lifeguards.

The lightning threat is moderate, which means thunderstorms are possible. The UV index is a 10, so bring the sunscreen.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet was at 6:38 a.m. High tide will arrive at 12:06 a.m., followed by another low tide at 7:10 p.m.
