Dumpster Fire Sends Smoke to Apartment Complex
A fire in a dumpster behind Foodtown on Route 9 is quickly extinguished
A smoky fire a dumpster behind the Foodtown in Baywick Plaza on Route 9 sent smoke billowing toward the Hidden Creek apartments Saturday afternoon.
Bayville Fire Chief Kenneth Anderson said the call came in at 4:32 p.m. and by 4:45 the fire was out. But for a few minutes the fire sent smoke billowing through the trees and around the section of the apartment complex that's closest to the shopping center.
There were no injuries and no damage to anything other than the dumpster, Anderson said.
