Fatal Parkway Crash Kills Manahawkin Man In Berkeley: Cops

A fatal crash on the Garden State Parkway killed a 69-year-old New Jersey man on Sunday, police said.

Ernest Zahn of Manahawkin was driving northbound at 11:30 a.m. on the Garden State Parkway when his vehicle struck a guardrail in Berkeley Township, police said.

After smashing into the guardrail at milepost 78.4, Zahn's 2015 Hyundai Sonata then left the roadway and hit some trees, police said.

Zahn was pronounced dead at the scene. This was the second fatal crash on the Parkway this past weekend.

One person was killed in the crash on the Garden State Parkway in Middle Township on Sunday, according to the State Police.

The highway was not shut down after the Berkeley crash. The accident is under investigation.
