Man Found Dead In Double Trouble Woods Had Street Drugs In His System

The body of Scott Bennett, 28, of Long Branch was found sitting by a tree in the state park.

Although the exact cause of death has not yet been determined, a Long Branch man found dead about a mile into the woods in Double Trouble State Park back in March had street drugs in his system, a spokesman for the Ocean Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Toxicology tests also determined that Scott Bennett, 28, had also taken prescription medications, spokesman Al Della Fave said.

"We still don't have the final report from the Medical Examiner," he said.

Bennett's body was recovered from the woods in the area of Pinewald-Keswick Road and Double Trouble Road in Berkeley Township, Della Fave has said.

A man walking his dog found the body and called police. Bennett was found sitting by a tree. There were no signs of foul play, Della Fave has said.
