More Than $3k Of Supplies Donated To Berkeley Schools: Mayor
The Mayor's School Supply Drive was a success this year, with more than $3,000 worth of supplies donated to Berkeley students.

BERKELEY, NJ — The Mayor's Annual School Supply Drive was a success this year, enabling Berkeley kids in need to be ready for the upcoming school year, Mayor Carmen Amato said.
According to Amato, this year more than $3,000 worth of supplies were donated. The supplies were given by Amato, the Berkeley Township Council and Berkeley Recreation to the Berkeley Township School District, who will distribute the items to children in need.
"The Berkeley community has always stepped up to provide these needed supplies for our elementary students," Amato told Patch. "I can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity."

Amato first started the drive in 2012, his first year as mayor. He worked with then-Berkeley School Superintendent Joseph H. Vicari and now works with current Superintendent Dr. James Roselli.
More than $30,000 worth of supplies have been donated since the program's inception, Amato estimates.
