'No Threat' To Berkeley Students Amid Swatting Reports

Across Ocean County and the state, fake shootings have been reported at schools. There is no threat at Berkeley schools, officials said.

BERKELEY, NJ — Across New Jersey Friday morning, several schools have reported swatting incidents leading to lockdowns and police investigation. But there is no threat in Berkeley and Central Regional schools.

The Berkeley Township School District shared a message on Facebook that out of an abundance of caution, children would not be allowed outside on Friday.

"A hoax call of a threat has been received throughout the county," the Central Regional School District posted on their website.

CRSD shared that they also contacted Berkeley police and are working closely with them to "monitor the status of the situation and continuously ensure the safety of all."

The news comes after numerous school districts received fake 911 calls Friday morning, including some in Ocean County.
