The Georgian Court Library was briefly evacuated Thursday night after a report of a suspicious package.
Lakewood police, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Arson Detective John Doran and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department responded at 8:28 p.m. Lakewood Officer Vito Renna located a silver lunch box on a table in the rear of the library, said Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Spokesman Al Della Fave.

The building was evacuated and secured. Sheriff's Officer Christine Casullo and her K-9 partner "Bear" found no explosive materials, he said.
"Upon closer examination, the lunchbox contained frozen ice packs and two (plastic) containers, Della Fave said.

He urged people not to leave bags, packages or containers that could be perceived as a threat unattended.
"It's so very important if 'You See Something You Say Something,' ...it can expend valuable police resources and inconvenience many people unnecessarily," Della Fave said.
