• Bayville Nursing Director Admits Hitting Patient With Broom (patch.com) — Berkeley residents are learning that the nursing director at Bayville's Crystal Lake Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center has admitted to hitting an elderly patient with a broom and then lying in official reports. She pleaded guilty to tampering with witnesses and assault, will permanently lose her nursing license, and faces probation with anger management and community service when sentenced in October.
   

• NJ Child Killed When Dirt Bike Slams Into Pickup At The Jersey Shore (patch.com) — An 11-year-old girl from the area died Wednesday afternoon after the electric dirt bike she was riding as a passenger collided with a pickup truck at Sherman Avenue and Moorage Avenue in Berkeley. An 11-year-old boy driving the bike was treated and released, while the pickup driver stayed at the scene as investigators continue reviewing the crash.
