Sandy Victims Suing Over Altered Damage Report On Their Battered Home
Seaside Heights couple denied payment for storm damage; attorney claims changed report is 'fraud.'

John and Rosemary Kleinfelder never had any doubt that their Seaside Heights home was severely damaged when Superstorm Sandy roared on shore on Oct. 12, 2012.
Neither did the first insurance adjuster who spent 29 hours documenting damages in the couple’s home for his inspection report. But his report was substantially rewritten by an engineering firm that reviewed the original inspection report. The later report blamed the damage on pre-existing conditions, according to an investigative piece by Townsquare Media.
The Kleinfelders and their attorney are taking legal action against Fidelity National Casualty Insurance Company, of St. Petersburg, Florida and its engineering contractor, U.S. Forensic of Metairie, Lousiana.
