Seaside Heights Police Charge Newark Man With Drunk Driving After He Hits Boy On Bike
Concerned citizen followed DeVone Ramsey after the accident until police arrived.

Seaside Heights police have charged a Newark man with drunk driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving after he hit a 13-year-old Seaside Park boy on Saturday night.
The youth was riding his bike at 8:10 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the area of Blaine Avenue and Ocean Terrace when he was struck, Detective Steven Korman said.
The boy sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene, he said.

A concerned citizen followed DeVonne Ramsey, 26, and spoke with police dispatchers advising them of Ramsey's location, Korman said.
Lavallette Patrolman Ryan Crisalli stopped Ramsey at Route 35 North and Ramsey Avenue, where he was pulled over and charged, Korman said.

Patrolman Tim Smith issued the other charges against Ramsey, he said.
