BERKELEY, NJ — A special Berkeley Township Council meeting has been set for Oct. 1, according to public notice.
The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. at Berkeley Town Hall, 627 Pinewald-Keswick Road.

One ordinance has to do with multiple sections of the ordinance and the agenda says it is for "hourly rates for recreation building use."
This is to establish a fee for usage of the recreation building, as in hall rentals, according to township officials. Patch confirmed that it has nothing to do with the usage of turf fields, as some rumors have said.

The second ordinance says it will amend and supplement the section of the code titled "Senior Program Registration."
"There shall be a fee of $10 per year per individual for participation in the Berkeley Township Senior Recreation Program," the code reads.
The full text of the ordinances was not published as of Wednesday. Other items on the agenda include financial matters, including park use approval for an upcoming festival.
