Toy Gun Cause Of Central Regional Middle School 'Suspicious Incident'
Someone notified police of a possible sighting of a weapon at a middle school bus stop Tuesday morning, Central Regional said.

BERKELEY, NJ — Tuesday morning's "suspicious incident" at Central Regional Middle School was caused by a toy gun a student brought onto a bus, Superintendent Tom Parlapanides said.
A letter home to parents said that Seaside Heights police contacted Berkeley police after a report of a possible sighting of a weapon at a middle school bus stop. Police met the bus and the student was taken to the police station, Parlapanides said.
Police determined that the weapon was only a toy gun, Parlapanides said.

Berkeley police said they responded to a "suspicious incident" Tuesday morning at Central Regional Middle School.
The incident happened at about 7:45 a.m., Berkeley police said.

There is no current threat to students and staff, police said. All are safe and school is continuing as usual, Parlapanides said.
This is an ongoing investigation involving juveniles, police said. More information will be released by police when possible.
