Watch Out For Buses, Berkeley Children Walking, Mayor Asks
As Berkeley heads back to school, Mayor Carmen Amato is asking drivers to pay attention to the roads to keep children safe.
BERKELEY, NJ — This week, Berkeley Township heads back to school. With buses on the roads and children walking to school, Mayor Carmen Amato put out a message to ask drivers to pay attention to help keep the township safe.
"Each year we caution drivers about back-to-school safety and the importance of paying extra attention to school buses and children walking to school," Amato said.
Students will be out at their bus stops, with more than 60 school buses traveling Berkeley roads, Amato said. He urged drivers to be "extra alert."
