Movie Mondays - Fighting with My Family: Bring lunch or a snack to enjoy while watching the movie. This biographical dramedy tells the story of English WWE champion Raya Knight. Having grown up in a professional wrestling family, she uproots herself from small-town England as a teenager to pursue WWE glory in Los Angeles. (PG-13) 110 min. 1:30 p.m.

Space! The Cosmos for Kids: Dancing, music, and information about our solar system to a thumping beat. Sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Library. 6:30 p.m.

The Yarn Dolls: Knit or crochet with the Yarn Dolls. Bring along your unfinished projects. 6:30 p.m.

Countdown to Kindergarten: This five week series will provide a variety of activities designed to help prepare your child for kindergarten. Sign up once for the whole series. 10:30 a.m.

Tapestry Glass Art: Attendees will layer fine grit glass to create designs, which will be melted into wall art or a sun catcher. Space is limited. Registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Library. 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 7

OCL Puppet Show Players Present - Not Quite Narwhal: When Kelp gets carried away by a strong current, he encounters mysterious creatures who leave him wondering if maybe he isn't a narwhal at all. This puppet show is based on Jessie Sima's Not Quite Narwhal. Craft to follow program. Ages 2 and up. 10:30 a.m.

Self Defense for Teens: An introduction to basic self-defense techniques, with a focus on teamwork and confidence-building activities. 6:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 8

Pirate Scavenger Hunt: Search for buried treasures by solving riddles. Please register space is limited. 10:30 a.m.

An Afternoon of Mah Jongg: For Mah Jongg Mavens. If you have your own set, please bring it along. Registration required only for first visit.This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Library. 1 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 9

Baby and Me: Rhythm, rhyme, music and movement for babies up to 12 months with caregiver. This is designed for babies not yet walking. 10:30 a.m.

Book Discussion - Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz: Please pick up at the Berkeley Branch circulation desk. 1 p.m.
