Chef Showdown at the Bernards Inn on Wednesday, April 5 to Benefit Safe+Sound Somerset
Come watch as Executive Chef, Corey W. Heyer from the Bernards Inn competes against Chef De Cuisine, Anthony Capella from the Ryland Inn
Hillsborough, NJ – February 8, 2017 – Safe+Sound Somerset is set to host the 1st Annual Chef Showdown at the beautiful Bernards Inn on Wednesday, April 5, at 7 pm. Come watch as Executive Chef, Corey W. Heyer from the Bernards Inn competes against Chef De Cuisine, Anthony Capella from the Ryland Inn in Somerset County’s own version of “Iron Chef”. This one-of-a-kind culinary event will benefit the programs and services of Safe+Sound Somerset, a nonprofit organization that has advocated and provided services to domestic abuse victims for 39 years.
New York Times best-selling author Dorothea Benton Frank will serve as the Master of Ceremonies. Dorothea will hold a book signing for her latest book, All Summer Long, from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the Bernards Inn Silver Vault. The book signing will be open to the public at no charge.
The distinguished panel of judges includes Bill Spadea, host of "Chasing News" and "Morning Drive" on New Jersey 101.5, Jessica Nutt from "Chasing News," and comedians Jay Black, Chip Chantry and Tom Cotter, who competed on "America’s Got Talent". The judges will have an interactive role with the MC and chefs throughout the preparation of the meal.

All participants - chefs, MC and judges - are generously donating their time and talent to support this fundraiser event.
The Chef Showdown will take place on April 5th at the Bernards Inn, 27 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville, NJ at 7:00 pm. Bleacher seating will provide guests with optimum viewing of the chefs as they prepare the meal.

Seating for this signature event is limited. Tickets are priced at $250 each, and include delicious hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer and soft drinks.
