Don't Miss The Spectacular Raptor Migration In Bernardsville

New and young hawk watchers can catch a glimpse of the spectacular raptor migration​ with Pete Dunne on Sept. 16.

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ — New and young hawk watchers can catch a glimpse of the spectacular raptor migration with Pete Dunne, New Jersey Audubon Birding Ambassador, on a rooftop observation deck in Bernardsville.

Locals can see hawk species like Red-tailed and Cooper’s Hawks, migrating Osprey, Sharp-shinned Hawks, and Broadwinged Hawks.

The viewing will be held at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville on Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and there is no registration needed.

Loaner binoculars will be available to those who arrive early. Guests should bring binoculars, sun glasses, sun screen and brimmed cap.

In addition, at noon, Dunne will be signing copies of his books, including “Birds of Prey”, a biological survey of North America’s 33 raptor species.
