“Although the gender gap is closing for women in public service, we still have a long way to go,” said Somerset County Commissioner Deputy Director Sara Sooy. “This is why it’s so important for women to mentor, support and empower other women who are interested in choosing public service as a career path. This webinar will reinforce that opportunities are available to women and they can succeed in public service if they desire to do so.”

Participants will hear stories from speakers Assemblywoman Linda Carter, Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson, and Commissioner Deputy Director Sara Sooy. Assemblywoman Carter has spent her career as a councilwoman and commissioner advocating for underprivileged and middle-class communities in New Jersey. Commissioner Director Robinson was a municipal council member, deputy mayor, and activist who has received numerous awards for her excellence in leadership and community service. Commissioner Deputy Director Sara Sooy has achieved success as a board member on several committees, through her volunteer work, and as a Somerset County Commissioner.
