• NWR and BES to Share Dr. Ketch as Superintendent, With $543k Combined Cost Savings Estimated Across Four Years (ridgeviewecho.com) — Blairstown residents could soon share a superintendent with North Warren Regional, a move projected to save both districts more than $543,000 over four years, with especially large savings for Blairstown taxpayers. If approved by the Blairstown Elementary board and state officials, Dr. Patrick Ketch would split his time 60/40 between North Warren and Blairstown Elementary starting Oct. 1, while principals handle day-to-day duties when he's off-site. 
• Mosquito spraying scheduled Thursday night in 2 Warren County communities (wrnjradio.com) — Blairstown is among several Warren County towns where mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus, according to county data released Sept. 30. While spraying is scheduled Thursday night in nearby Hardwick and Independence, Blairstown residents are urged to stay informed about mosquito control efforts, check the county website for updates, and take basic precautions to reduce standing water and avoid bites.
