Bloomfield residents hit the polls on June 4 to decide who will represent their party in November's election.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Tuesday's Primary Election was an exercise in blue for Bloomfield, which saw uncontested races for mayor and town council without a single Republican candidate.

In Bloomfield, voters selected the Democratic candidates who will lock horns in November's election. No Republican ran for mayor or town council.

Here are the early, unofficial results for both races as of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, via the Essex County Clerk’s Office.

BLOOMFIELD MAYOR

With 33 of 35 districts reported:

DEMOCRATIC PARTY (VOTE FOR 1)

Michael J. VENEZIA -1,038 votes (98.95%)

Write-In -11 (1.05%)

REPUBLICAN PARTY (VOTE FOR 1)

Write-In - 12 votes (100%)

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP COUNCIL

With 33 of 35 districts reported:

DEMOCRATIC PARTY (VOTE FOR 3)

Wartyna Nina DAVIS -1,040 votes (34.36%)

Ted GAMBLE -989 votes (32.67%)

Richard ROCKWELL - 990 votes (32.71%)

Write-In - 8 (0.26%)

REPUBLICAN PARTY (VOTE FOR 1)

Write-In - 16 (100%)
