Bloomfield Cops Conduct DWI Checkpoint: 45 Summonses, 4 Arrests

How many summonses did police hand out during the recent DWI safety checkpoint at Bloomfield Avenue and North 16th Street?

Bloomfield, NJ – How many summonses did the Bloomfield Police Department hand out during its recent DWI safety checkpoint?

According to Bloomfield police, officers issued 45 summonses during the checkpoint campaign, which took place at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and North 16th Street from 11 p.m. on May 5, to 3 a.m. on May 6.

In addition to the summonses, Bloomfield officers also made four DWI arrests and impounded five vehicles, authorities reported.

The checkpoint was conducted under the command of Lt. Gary Peters and assisted by Sgt. Joseph Corio and Sgt. Luca Piscitelli. Officers assigned to the detail included PO Anthony Batelli, PO Timothy Kealy, PO Yesenia Aponte, Detective Jennifer Horn, PO Glen Capito, PO Teobaldo Osis, PO Nicolae Toader, PO Nicholas Mauriello, PO Meljun Pascua and Detective James Romano.
