Bloomfield To Hold 2019 ‘Big Truck and Electronics Recycling Day’

Have a child that can't get enough of the sight and sounds of big trucks? Take them to this annual event, and get rid of some e-trash, too.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Do you have a child that can’t get enough of the sight and sounds of big trucks? Here’s a chance to get rid of your unwanted electronic recycling, and give the kids a day out while you’re at it.

On Saturday, May 18, Bloomfield Township will host its annual “Big Truck and Electronics Recycling Day” from 9 a.m. to noon at 1350 Broad Street in the parking lot across from Brookdale Baptist Church. (Learn more about this local event here)

At the event, the Bloomfield Department of Public Works and Parks will have several of its trucks on display. Children will be able to sit in the vehicles and pretend that they’re driving, event organizers said.

Meanwhile, Bloomfield residents will be able to drop off unwanted electronics such as computers, televisions, radios, cell phones, monitors, printers, cables, wires, VCRs, DVD players and small appliances.

“Our annual Big Truck Day Recycling Event is a great way to teach kids about the importance of recycling, and thanks to our dedicated Public Works and Parks staff, sit in the big trucks so many kids love,” Recycling Coordinator Louise Palagano said.
