“As a newly formed organization, the group is excited to get to know one another better in a casual, social setting and looks to welcome new members to the event. Bloomfield Pride is equally comprised of those identifying themselves as members of the LGBTQ+ community as well as family, friends, and allies. Going forward, Bloomfield Pride will be hosting regularly scheduled social events in addition to their monthly business meetings. By hosting these social events, the group hopes to provide a safe, warm, and inviting space for members of the LGBTQ+ community in Bloomfield and the surrounding areas.”

Bloomfield Pride said that at the monthly Bloomfield Town Council meeting on May 22, Mayor Michael Venezia and the council members read a proclamation dedicating and proclaiming June 2017 as “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.”

The proclamation was received by Bloomfield Pride members Moira Nelson, Oscar Marin, and Maria Francisco.
