Adrienne Rodriguez and Lesly Sanchez Garner 'Club 90' Accolades for BHS Girls Wrestling (tapinto.net) — Bloomfield High wrestlers Adrienne Rodriguez and Lesly Sanchez have earned special "Club 90" jackets for their intense off-season training, from club practices to summer tournaments. Their hard work, including involvement in regional programs like Newark's Beat the Streets and Wrestling U in Nutley, is helping set up the Bengals girls wrestling squad for a strong 2026–27 season.
   

2. Bloomfield Mourns For 3 Local Victims At 9/11 Memorial Ceremony (patch.com) — Bloomfield recently gathered on the Historic Town Green to honor three local residents lost on 9/11, marking the attacks' 25th anniversary. Luminary bags decorated by Bloomfield High School students and teachers ringed the green until 9:11 p.m., giving neighbors a quiet, visual way to remember all 2,977 victims together.
   

3. Pets Abandoned In Essex County: Dog Tied To Fence, Cat Left Outside Shelter (patch.com) — Two pets were recently abandoned in Bloomfield, including a dog tied to a fence near the Garden State Parkway entrance on Summit Avenue and a cat left outside the Bloomfield Animal Shelter gate. Shelter staff are stressing that drop-offs like this are illegal and unsafe, and they're asking anyone with information to call 973-748-0194.
   

4. The Bloomfield Presbyterian Church Becomes a Home for Bloomfield Arts and Culture (tapinto.net) — Bloomfield residents now have a revitalized arts hub at Bloomfield Presbyterian Church's historic sanctuary, where the Sanctuary On the Green Alliance hosts performances and exhibits. With new staging, lighting, and an October 9–10 arts crawl centered on the town green and downtown, the space is becoming a key cultural venue as longtime pastor Ruth Boling prepares to retire.
   

5. Latest ICE Arrests In Essex County Add To Growing List (patch.com) — Recent ICE activity in Bloomfield, including at least one reported arrest and earlier visits near Town Hall, is heightening concern among local residents and advocacy groups. Community members have organized vigils and protests in Bloomfield and nearby towns, pushing back on federal claims that most detainees are serious criminals and calling for changes to immigration enforcement in Essex County.
