2 Brick Township Police Officers Honored At Retirement

The officers retired after 25 years of service.

BRICK, NJ — Two Brick Township police officers were honored as they retired from the department after 25 years of service.

Sgt. Jason Shepherd and Sgt. Peter Thomas retired Sept. 26, both of them after serving Brick Township for 25 years, officials said.

Shepherd worked 14 years in the Drug Unit and three years in the Community Policing Unit as a D.A.R.E officer over the course of his career. He spent the last five years as a patrol sergeant on the evening shift.

Thomas spent nine years in the identification bureau and served as a patrol sergeant for the last eight years. He was also a member of the SWAT Team and spent 12 years as a crisis negotiator.

"Enjoy your well-deserved retirement. You will both be missed," the police department said in a post on the department's Facebook page.
