1. Nor'easter update: How much rain did the Jersey Shore get? NJ totals (burlingtoncountytimes.com) — Brick picked up 2.7 inches of rain from the latest nor'easter, placing it among the harder-hit Ocean County communities as wind-driven flooding and heavy downpours swept the Shore. Nearby towns like Bradley Beach, Long Branch, and Point Pleasant Beach saw even higher totals, underscoring how widespread the storm's impact has been across the region.
   

2. James Aloysious Irving, Jr. (starnewsgroup.com) — Family and friends in Brick can pay their respects to James Aloysious Irving Jr. at a memorial visitation on Sunday, October 4 at O'Brien Funeral Home. The longtime Shore resident and Coast Guard reservist is remembered for his public service, Irish pride, and love of golf, gardening, and the stock market.
   

3. Week 4 Dick's House of Sport Football Player of the Week Poll (shoresportsinsider.com) — Two standout Brick athletes are in the spotlight this week, with Brick's Tyshawn Corbett and Brick Memorial's Colin Schoellkopf both nominated for Shore Conference Football Player of the Week after big wins over Toms River teams. 4. One dead, tens of thousands without power as nor'easter impacts U.S. Northeast (watchers.news) — Heavy rain from the nor'easter soaked Brick with about 2.5 inches, contributing to flooding and rough surf along the Jersey Shore. While the worst winds are easing, coastal flooding, dangerous rip currents, and lingering rain may still affect Brick-area travel and beach conditions into Monday before gradual improvement.
   

5. Fugitive surrenders to face charges he helped accused Wawa shooter escape (app.com) — A Brick man has surrendered to authorities and is now in Ocean County Jail, accused of helping a Toms River murder suspect avoid capture after a deadly shooting at a Wawa on Route 37. Prosecutors say he's one of four people charged with hindering the fugitive's apprehension, while investigators continue searching and ask the public for tips.
