Brandywine Living at The Gables by Monarch Celebrates Resident’s 106th Birthday

BRICK, NJ — Brandywine Living at The Gables by Monarch recently had the privilege of celebrating an extraordinary milestone as resident Theresa “Tessy” Sarosy marked her 106th birthday surrounded by family, friends, fellow residents, and team members.

Born on June 27, 1920, in Brooklyn, New York, Theresa has witnessed more than a century of American history while building a life rooted in faith, family, kindness, and resilience.

Guests gathered for a festive birthday celebration featuring live entertainment by Patrizsha of Soulterior Motives, creating an afternoon filled with music, laughter, dancing, and heartfelt tributes. A beautifully decorated birthday cake and festive decorations, generously provided by Dove Hospice, helped make the occasion even more memorable.

Throughout her remarkable life, Theresa worked as a switchboard operator and developed a lifelong love of reading. She especially cherished holidays, with Palm Sunday always holding a special place in her heart.

Theresa and her late husband spent nine years in Massachusetts raising their two sons, Robert and Raymond. She remains deeply proud of her husband’s military service during World War II, during which he earned the Purple Heart.

Today, Theresa’s legacy spans four generations. She is the proud grandmother of four grandchildren and great-grandmother of five great grandchildren. Her son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Joni, continue to visit often, keeping family at the center of her life.

Known for her warm smile, gentle spirit, friendly personality, and love of sweets, Theresa remains a beloved member of the Brandywine Living at The Gables by Monarch community.
