Brick Council Honors St. Dominic On Blue Ribbon School Award

The school placed in the top 15 for English and math scores and is one of 49 private schools nationally to receive the honor.

BRICK, NJ — St. Dominic Elementary School was honored by the Brick Township Council Tuesday evening on being named a National Blue Ribbon school for 2018.

The elementary school at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, which has nearly 460 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, was honored in October by the federal Department of Education and representatives attended an awards ceremony earlier in November.

St. Dominic is one of 349 schools overall and one of just 49 non-public schools nationwide to receive the honor in the Exemplary High Performing Schools category of the National Blue Ribbon Schools program, which means student achievement in English and math is among the highest in the country (top 15 percent) as measured by a nationally normed test.
