Brick Offers Free Sports Training Program For Kids' Minds, Bodies

The free program for kids ages 9 to 12 is funded by a grant and presented by the Brick Municipal Anti-Drug Coalition.

BRICK, NJ — If you are looking for a program that will improve your child's self-esteem and their physical fitness as well, Sport Saturday may be just the place for them.

Presented by the Brick Municipal Anti-Drug Coalition, the program is open to children ages 9 to 12 and is held every Saturday through April 14 at the Brick Civic Plaza, 270 Chambersbridge Road.

The program is free and there are two sessions each Saturday: one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 10:30 a.m.

It offers young athletes 90-minute training sessions designed to help them achieve their personal best physically, mentally and emotionally in both sports and life. There is sports-specific training, and sessions that emphasize the importance of leadership qualities, along with problem-solving and character development and is designed to help our kids' self-esteem, awareness and their resiliency, all of which can help them fight the temptation to begin underage drinking or using drugs.

The program is funded by a grant from the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and is free for participants. Parents can register their children for one or more sessions.
