Brick Players Help Propel Ocean County to Victory

Annual Ocean-Monmouth matchup organized by former NHL player Jim Dowd

Thirteen players from Brick Township helped propel Ocean County to a 5-3 victory over Monmouth County last weekend in the annual Shoot for the Stars hockey game, which is organized each year by former NHL star (and Brick native) Jim Dowd.

The game features top high school ice hockey players from the two counties, and benefits charity. This year, the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean counties benefited from the proceeds of the game. Brick's Eddie Rafferty was named co-MVP of the game, along with Toms River South's Jay Malone.
