Brick School Board Election: See Who's Running In 2022
There are two seats up for election in November on the school board.
BRICK, NJ — Four people have filed petitions to run for two seats on the Brick Township Board of Education in the November election.
The two seats will be open, as current members Melita Gagliardi and Daisy Haffner are not seeking re-election.
The four candidates are Frances DiBenedictis, under the slogan "For Our Future;" Madeline Iannarone, who is running without a slogan; and Erin Wheeler and Maureen Molz, who are running together under the "Together for Brick" slogan.

DiBenedictis ran for the school board last year. She has a special needs child in the district and said she wants to encourage district parents to be more involved with the district and the board.
Iannarone has lived in Brick Township all of her life and has served the town in various capacities, including volunteering with its Trap-Neuter-Release program to help control the cat population, and she worked for the township's recreation department for several years. She ran for the board in 2016.

Wheeler is a chemistry and physics teacher in another school district and is an alternate commissioner on the Brick Township MUA. She also is a member of Clean Ocean Action and a certified Girl Scout leader.
Molz is a retired engineer who worked for the FAA for 10 years and for the U.S. Army for more than 22 years, according to her biography on Linked In.
The Brick Township Board of Education has seven unpaid volunteer members, each serving three-year terms.
