Heartbreaking Incidents At Jersey Shore: Here's What Happened
Several heartbreaking incidents have happened in a few towns at the Jersey Shore, capped by a shooting near a school Tuesday.

JERSEY SHORE — Some Jersey Shore communities where violence typically isn't known to happen are dealing with a recent spate of deaths and other crimes.
In the most recent incident, investigators worked into the night following leads in the search for the person involved who shot a teen near Brick Memorial High School, setting off a terrifying afternoon Tuesday for parents and students. Read more: No Arrests Yet In Shooting Near Brick School
The incident, unfortunately, wasn't the only one that has raised fears in Brick and other nearby communities. Indeed, three deaths have happened in the Howell Township-Farmingdale area over the past week. Howell hadn't had a homicide since 2010. - Prosecutors have been investigating a fatal shooting that happened after a fight was reported in Manalapan earlier this month, police said. Narisco Rodriguez, 43, was shot Oct. 5 and later pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's office. - A Farmingdale man has been identified as the person killed in a police-involved shooting as the New Jersey Attorney General's office released more details of the incident. - Nearby, Domingo Merino Rafael, 33, of Lakewood was found dead Friday on a Howell road by a person who called 911, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said Saturday. Homicide was not ruled out as a cause. Read more: Howell Police Closing Hurley Pond Road, Where Body Was Found
- A Toms River man who's charged in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Lakewood teenager Oct. 4 had his license suspended five times in the last 15 years and has a history of unsafe driving, state records show. Read more: Driver Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run Had Multiple Suspensions
- A man who had been released from state prison in May was charged with murder in what authorities say was a drug deal gone bad. John T. Mullen Jr., 50, was arrested Sunday evening at Surf and Stream Campground, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Manchester Township Police Chief Lisa Parker said. - Police subdued a machete-wielding man after a 3-1/2-hour standoff Tuesday afternoon. Civilians around the man's home at 368 E Ridgewood Ave. were notified, and nearby schools went into shelter-in-place protocol, police said. Read more: Galloway PD Standoff Over; Police Detain Man Who Had Machete
