The Center for Healthy Aging at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus Presents Seasonal Affective Disorder

Prepare for the winter months with Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus' Seasonal Affective Disorder Program

As the days get shorter and temperatures drop, some individuals begin to experience the winter blues. According to estimates by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Seasonal Affective Disorder - a type of depression that is related to changes in seasons and most prevalent in winter months - affects up to 20 percent of Americans.

In order to prepare for the upcoming change in seasons, Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus will present Seasonal Affective Disorder on Thursday, October 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ocean County Library’s Brick Branch, located at 301 Chambersbridge Road in Brick.

During this free, educational program, attendees will learn about the symptoms and causes behind this type of depression and various methods of treatment useful in combatting the winter blues.

The program is free, and registration is required by calling 732-477-4513. Refreshments will be provided.
