County Awards $4.6M Contract To Replace Midstreams Bridge In Brick
Construction on the new bridge is expected to begin this fall, county officials said. Traffic in the area will be affected.

BRICK, NJ — The 55-year-old bridge that spans the Beaver Dam Creek on Midstreams Road will be replaced starting this fall, Ocean County officials said Thursday.
The Ocean County Board of Freeholders awarded a$4,661,443 contract to Midlantic Construction of Barnegat Township on Wednesday to replace the existing bridge, officials said in a news release.
The current bridge is a concrete and timber pile span, officials said. The new bridge will be 111 feet long and will be made of steel and concrete. Freeholder John P. Kelly, liaison to the county's engineering department, said the new span should last 70 to 80 years. It will be 49 feet wide and include a 6-foot-wide sidewalk on the west side of the bridge, officials said.
