NJ Native former NBA Cheerleader opens a Cheerleading School

Former NBA cheerleader, and Janet Jackson back up dancer Candi Capoferri aka Candi Davis will be launching Pro Gear Seals Cheerleading Academy located 13369 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, Florida, 34613 inside Pro Gear Gym https://www.progeargym.com/ The grand opening is this Friday January 5, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.

Candi grew up in Hammonton, New Jersey there she excelled in basketball and softball. Her grandfather was a Captain in the United States Navy, and her father was a Navy Seal. Growing up, her family provided a moral foundation to be a great leader. Candi learned early in life the importance of treating people as equals and when someone needs help. This assisted her in becoming a successful coach. Her coaching approach is all about inspiring and creating a positive atmosphere for success. She coached the then Hammonton Seals cheerleading team to four National Cheerleaders Association's https://www.varsity.com/nca/ championships from the years 1999-2004. Using positive motivation her teams were unstoppable, this inspired her students and caused a ripple effect of success with them in their personal lives.

Candi has had a diverse and successful multifaceted career. As a cheerleader and dancer, she was a former NBA Cheerleader for the Philadelphia 76ers from 1992-1995. In fitness she competed in the National Physique Committee (NPC) http://www.nationalphysiquecommittee.org/ there she won several contests including Miss Fitness.

Candice also had a successful beauty pageant career, winning numerous titles. In 2022 she was selected to be vice president of the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame https://womenswrestlinghalloffame.com/
