Tag Team Hall of Fame Inaugural Class

The Tag Team Hall of Fame (TTHOF) www.tagteamhalloffame.com was founded in 2022. The mission is to “Honor and preserve history's greatest tandem's, duo's, duets, teams, and tag teams. All genres are accepted.” The idea was provoked from a frustration that many groundbreaking professional wrestling tag teams and historic tandem’s have not been properly acknowledged. The “Tandem” category is reserved for music, pop culture, entertainment, science, historical figures, and fictional characters from classic literature.

Beginning with Powers of Pain (Warlord and Barbarian), David Schultz, (Killer Bee’s) Jumping Jim Brunzell & B. Brian Blair, and (Demolition) with Ax and Smash, at 80’s Wrestle Con https://80swrestlingcon.com/?fbclid=IwAR2-w9PyFZEL5b2a8C3Uf-WP3a7bVrjnGye3kk80BCwgHN_LzSkecQOGpts at Mennen Sports Arena Morristown, New Jersey. Former NWA talent Broadway Joe Malcolm will be inducting both Ax and Smash and ECW original Angel Orsini will be inducting Warlord and Barbarian. Mr. Big Jon Wohl will be inducting Dr. D David Schultz.

May 20, 2023, at Wrestle Show New Jersey at the Middletown Sports Complex http://wrestleshownj.com/ Barry Horowitz will be inducted by promoter Richie Sorrentino.

On May 21. 2023 at Baltimore Celebfest https://baltimorecelebfest.godaddysites.com/ the Tag Team Hall of Fame will be inducting the Fabulous Freebirds. Presenting the awards will be ECW original Pitbull 1 Gary Wolf. Accepting the awards will be Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin, Michael Hayes, and daughter of Bam Bam Terry Gordy Miranda Gordy.

On June 3, 2023, in Tampa, Florida at CWF legends fanfest WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco, The Glamor Girls (Judy Martin and Leilani Kai, and Steve Keirn.

On June 10-11 RiverCity wrestle con in Jacksonville, Florida www.rivercitywrestlingcon.com WWE Hall of Fame inductees (The Bushwhackers) Butch and posthumously Luke. Co-founder of the Tag Team Hall of Fame and author of “Bushwhackers” comic book John Crowther will be the one presenting the award.

On September 16, 2023, at the Legends of Hamburg in Pennsylvania (The Valiant Brothers) will be inducted. Accepting on the team’s behalf will be Jimmy Valiant, and historian/ producer Evan Ginzburg will accept on behalf of Johnny Valiant.

It’s been discussed but not confirmed in December at Icons of Wrestling Ball’s Mahoney, The Pitbull’s (Gary Wolf/ Anthony Durante), and Blue World Order (Blue Meanie, Stevie Richards, and Hollywood Nova).

Other pro wrestling tag team inductees that will be inducted at a later date will include Rocky Johnson (posthumously) and Tony Atlas, The Gangsta’s “Mustafa & (posthumously) New Jack”, Insane Clown Posse, California Doll's “Vicki Fredrick & Laurene Landon”, GLOW’s Hollywood and Vine, The Nasty Boys, WWE Hall of fame inductees Rock and Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson), (The Dream Team) Greg Valentine, Brutus Beefcake, Wild Samoans, and Jimmy Hart.

The following individuals will be recognized in this year’s “Tandem” category Don Quixote & Sancho Panza, The Wright brothers, Laurel & Hardy, the dynamic duo Batman & Robin, C3PO & R2D2 (Star Wars), Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson, New York Yankee’s original bash brothers Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig, Laverne & Shirley played by Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, Charlie Brown & Lucy (Cartoon), Rodgers & Hammerstein (composers) .

These tag teams and tandem’s will be inducted at events throughout the year such as the Icons of Wrestling at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA, New England Music Hall of Fame www.nemhof.com inductions, and many more.
