2 Police Officers Promoted, 1 New Officer Hired In Bridgewater

On Thursday, Daniel Hennessey was promoted to Lieutenant and Michael Leight was promoted to Sergeant. Brandon Peralta was also sworn in.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Two Bridgewater Township Police Officers were promoted and one officer was hired during a ceremony at the Township Council meeting on Thursday.

"Police Officers in my mind are heroes every day. They are heroes when they go and help a stranded motorist on the highway… they are heroes when they go to someone's house and they have a 911 call and they are in distress - it could be a medical call. Many times, police officers are the first ones to show up. They give us comfort in our homes at night to know we are safe and keep our community safe. They are heroes every day," said Council Vice President Filipe Pedroso at the April 3 Council meeting.

Daniel Hennessey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and Michael Leight was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
