$61K Worth Of Police Equipment Purchased By Bridgewater
The new equipment will be placed inside the new police cars ordered in December 2022.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Bridgewater Township Council recently approved roughly $61,000 worth of purchases for new equipment for the township police cars.
The two contracts to Data Center Warehouse and Motorola Solutions were unanimously approved by the council during the Sept. 21 meeting. The contracts include purchasing six Getac Tablets and accessories for Ford Police Interceptors totaling $22,104 and $39,600 worth of mobile video recording(MVR) equipment for four police Ford SUV Interceptors.
"Back in December of 2022, the Council authorized us to purchase 6 new police vehicles. This is now the equipment needed for these police vehicles," said Bridgewater Police Chief John Mitzak at the meeting.

He noted the police department has not yet received the vehicles but they are expected in October.
The Getac Tablets are the computers the police officers use to run plates and the mobile video recorders are in all the police cars that go simultaneously with their body-worn cameras, said Mitzak.

While there were 6 police cars purchased, only 4 new MVRs are being ordered since Mitzak said they are able to reuse two of the existing ones.
