PLUCKEMIN, NJ — The Pluckemin Presbyterian Church (PPC) is hosting their first Blue Christmas – A Service of Healing and Hope, this Sunday.

A Blue Christmas Service is offered especially for those hurting during the holidays. It’s often offered on or around the longest night of the year.

The service can be beneficial to those mourning the death of a loved one, far from home and missing family, suffering from illness, addiction, or estrangement, lonely, struggling financially, in conflict with another or hurting because of the great pain, need, and violence in our nation and world.

"The reasons for coming are many. We gather in the midst of suffering to remember God is good. We are not alone, and we have every reason to hold on to hope. All are welcome," according to PPC.

The event will be held at 279 Route 202-206 in Pluckemin on Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.
