Bridgewater-Raritan High School students are hosting the rally at the Bridgewater Municipal Building.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan High School students are inviting the community to join in their Stop Asian Hate Rally on Saturday at the Bridgewater Municipal Building.
"In the past year, Anti-Asian hate crimes have been at an all-time high with people from the elderly to young adults being attacked in broad daylight for their identities. According to Stop AAPI Hate, 3,800 hateful incidents directed to Asian Americans- not limited to crimes- have been reported in the past year," according to the students.
The Bridgewater #StopAsianHate Rally will take place on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Bridgewater Municipal Complex, 100 Commons Way, in Bridgewater. Participants are asked to bring a mask, a friend, and a poster. Social distancing is required.

"This rally is to show our support for the Asian American community in Bridgewater, and it is organized by Bridgewater students and residents. We welcome non-Asian communities to stand in solidarity with the Asian Americans. Our goals for this rally include paying respects for the victims of the Atlanta shooting and providing a safe space for the AAPI community. This will be a peaceful setting, and it's not a political event," according to students.
