Bridgewater Superintendent Resigns, Hired As Ridge HS Principal

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District Superintendent Russell Lazovick was hired Monday night to serve as Ridge High School's new principal.

Lazovick will begin his new role in Bernards Township on July 1 with a salary of $194,391.

"Lazovick prevailed as the best candidate in the interview process, Mr. Lazovick is an outstanding fit for the district and we look forward to his arrival," Bernards Township Nick Markarian said.

Lazovick had been serving as superintendent in Bridgewater since July 1, 2016. He had been awarded a five-year contract that was set to expire in 2021. He will be resigning one year earlier at the end of this current school year.

According to the Department of Education, Lazovick had been making $196,584 as superintendent in Bridgewater.

Lazovick will be replacing former Ridge HS principal Drew Krause who resigned at the end of January. In the interim William Annin Middle School Principal Karen Hudok was appointed as acting principal. (See Related: Karen Hudock Named Acting Ridge High School Principal)

Lazovick, who lives in Branchburg with his wife Laurie and two daughters Marisa and Samantha, had previously served as superintendent of the Nutley Public School District before taking the job in Bridgewater. (See Related: Bridgewater-Raritan Appoints New Superintendent)

Lazovick did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.
