Driver Cuts Across Route 22, Crashes Into 2 Vehicles, Overturns In Bridgewater: Police
The 50-year-old woman from South Bound Brook was issued two summonses for careless driving and unsafe lane change.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A driver was issued summonses after police say she cut across Route 22, crashed into a truck, overturned, and then hit a second vehicle on Wednesday morning.
On Feb. 19 at 11:11 a.m., a 2013 Toyota RAV4 driven by a 50-year-old woman from South Bound Brook entered Route 22 East from Adamsville Road, said Bridgewater Police Captain Kevin Tennant.
"As the RAV4 merged onto the highway it quickly crossed two lanes of traffic, into the left lane of travel," said Tennant.

While crossing the lanes, the RAV4 hit a 2020 GMC Terrain in the left lane. The truck was being driven by a 35-year-old man, said Tennant.
The impact caused the RAV4 to roll onto its roof and rotate clockwise before hitting a 2019 Hyundai Sonata (driven by a 60-year-old man) in the right lane, said Tennant.

The driver of the GMC Terrain suffered a laceration to the arm and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset.
The driver of the RAV4 was issued two summonses for careless driving and unsafe lane change.
The Finderne Fire Department also responded to the crash. The fire department, which covers the southeast section of Bridgewater Township, is always looking for volunteers.
Volunteers are offered complete protective gear, free training, LOSAP (Length of Service Award Programs), a pay-per-call incentive, a life insurance/disability plan, and an in-house gym.
