Man Dies After Pulled From Water At Duke Island Park
The New York state man was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on July 5 after the Independence Day incident in Bridgewater.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A New York state man died early Thursday hours after he was pulled from the water at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater.
The victim was identified as Fermin Franco, 52, of Valley Stream, New York.
At around 4:04 p.m., Bridgewater Police responded to a report of a possible drowning on the Raritan River near Duke Island Park off Old York Road, Bridgewater Police report.

Authorities entered the river and helped to remove Franco. Officers began CPR and all lifesaving protocols.
Bradley Gardens Fire Department, Bradley Gardens Rescue Squad and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Paramedics arrived and continued providing medical aide, until the victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset (RWJUS).

This death appears to be accidental, but the incident is still under investigation, police report.
