Free Household Goods, Resources, And Coats For Somerset County Residents In Need

The event will occur on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Somerville.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJSomerset County residents in need can attend the Community Resource Event to receive free household goods, coats, and access to information about human services and other local agencies offering programs for in-need residents. The event will occur on Friday, Sept. 15, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, located at 300 Union Ave. Somerville, NJ 08876.

The first Community Resource Event was initiated in response to residents affected by Hurricane Ida. This is the fifth event sponsored by the Somerset County Department of Human Services Office of Operations and Planning, the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and The Giving Network.

Somerset County Families and individuals can receive free household goods, coats, and other items, which will be available until supplies last. Residents will have an opportunity to obtain information from various agencies that help support residents in need.

Somerset County Office of Operations and Planning
The Office of Operations and Planning, a division of the Human Service Department, coordinates, facilitates, evaluates, and plans program development and resource allocation for the provision of services and programs to help address economic self-sufficiency and promote the social well-being of county residents.

The Giving Network
The Giving Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to recycling household items and delivering those items to in-need residents of Somerset County. The organization is a volunteer-run volunteer-driven program that achieves its objectives by working with other organizations, agencies, businesses, and churches.
