Bomb Threats In Somerset County Prompt Investigation By Homeland Security

Multiple bomb threats were made this week across Somerset County including at Walmart, ShopRite and RWJ University Hospital Somerset.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ —After four bomb threats were reported at multiple locationswithin 24 hours in and around Somerset County this week, the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) is investigating.

"We are working with local, county, state and federal partners to determine their origin. At this time, they appear to be noncredible; however, all threats are being reviewed, assessed and shared with appropriate law enforcement entities throughout the State," said NJOHSP Spokeswoman Maria Prato.

Due to the sensitive nature of the information, no other details were released.

Two bomb threats were reported on Tuesday in Somerset County. One threat was reported at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset located in Somerville and another at ShopRite in Branchburg. Read More: 2 Bomb Threats Reported In Somerset County

The ShopRite was evacuated while Somerset hospital was placed on lockdown.

A bomb threat was also reported at the Walmart in Watchung and in East Brunswick on Monday afternoon.

All of the threats were found to be noncredible.
