Latest Bridgewater Coronavirus Updates: Death Toll Rises To 5

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The new coronavirus outbreak in New Jersey and across the nation is having vast impacts in Bridgewater, including the closure of schools and many businesses.

The number of cases of the illness caused by the virus, known as COVID-19, continue to rise and additional measures and closures continue to be announced.

As of Tuesday there are 52 total cases of COVID-19 and five death-related to the virus in Bridgewater Township. There are also a total of 413 cases in Somerset County as of Tuesday.

This includes the death of a Bridgewater father of two. The family is at home recovering from the coronavirus. MORE.

SCHOOLS

All Raritan Valley Community College classes will continue online for the remainder of the semester due to the new coronavirus outbreak. MORE.

All schools in Bridgewater will remain closed through at least April 17 in response to the new coronavirus outbreak, state officials said. MORE.

HOSPITALS

Visitors will no longer be allowed at RWJ University Hospital Somerset except under special circumstances to protect the health of patients and staff amid new coronavirus concerns. MORE.

CANCELLATIONS/CLOSURES

Bridgewater declared a State of Emergency on March 16 implementing several changes in town. MORE.

Somerset County is looking to set up the county's first drive-thru testing site for the new coronavirus. MORE.
