Man Who Followed Woman From Bank, Stole Cash Arrested: Raritan Police
Nicholas Florez-Sanchez, 27, of Newark, was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, and theft.
RARITAN, NJ — A man who was wanted for more than a year for following a woman from a bank and stealing cash has been arrested, announced Raritan Police.
Nicholas Florez-Sanchez, 27, of Newark, who was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, and theft, was arrested on Nov. 4.
The crime was reported on May 23, 2023, when Raritan patrol officers went to Janssen Pharmaceuticals for a burglary of a motor vehicle. Read More: Man Wanted On Car Burglary Charges In Raritan

The victim reported that the window in her 2017 Kia Sportage had been broken and a tote bag containing $544 cash was missing.
An investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division found the victim had withdrawn money from a bank in Somerville and was followed to Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

After the victim got out of her vehicle to go to work, it was burglarized, said police.
Florez-Sanchez was identified as a suspect after police got surveillance footage from various locations and with the help of the South Plainfield Police Department.
A warrant was then issued for Sanchez's arrest.
On Nov. 4, 2024, Raritan Police Officers took custody of Florez-Sanchez at the Middlesex County Jail. Florez-Sanchez was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
